A Personal Letter from Brooklyn

To college coaches and recruitment staff

Dear Coach / Admissions Team,

My name is Brooklyn Thomson and I am currently completing my final years of high school while pursuing opportunities to continue my soccer career at university in the United States.

One of the main reasons I am drawn to studying and playing sport in the USA is the strong balance between academics and athletics. I admire the way collegiate sport allows athletes to compete at a high level while also building a solid academic future. The opportunity to train, compete, and study in an environment that values both education and sport is something that truly motivates me.

The United States has also become very personal to my family. My sister is currently completing her final year at the University of South Florida in Tampa, and my brother is playing rugby at Arkansas State University. Seeing both of their experiences has inspired me and given me a real insight into the opportunities that college sport in the USA can provide.

If possible, I would love the opportunity to study and play soccer in Tampa so that I can be close to my sister while continuing to grow both academically and athletically. Having family nearby would mean a great deal to me as I take on the challenge of studying and competing abroad.

I am a committed athlete who values hard work, teamwork, and discipline, and I hope to contribute positively to a university team while continuing to develop both on and off the field.

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and for considering my application.

Kind regards,
Brooklyn Thomson
